Presents Cowboy Bill Martin
February 23 - February 28

A natural performer, Cowboy Bill says it was his ailing grandmother who spurred him on to "Find some happiness in his life." Cowboy Bill says, "I told her I wanted to do stand up and she encouraged me to go for it and then I reluctantly said, ‘what if I lose the house?’ She looked me in the eye and simply told me to ‘buy another’. She told me not to live in the ‘would’ve, could’ve, should’ve.’ And this was from a woman who was dying of cancer. So that’s what I did. (as he laughs). I lost a house and found a career." And it is a good thing that he did, because now we can all laugh with him. After shooting up through the clubs and then touring with everyone from Strait to Jones and Foxworthy to Loretta Lynn, by 2004, Bill said he still felt that he hadn't found his "voice" on stage. “I was making a lot of money, but still felt like I was not talking about the stuff I wanted to.” So that fall he hired a new manager and the first thing that they did was look at the act and say, “is it funny or is it memorable?” Steve Cox of Scott Dean Management said, “I knew he had funny, I just wanted him to have more of his heart on stage.” But what makes Bill different on stage is that he wasn’t scared to go outside of his comfort zone. “After Blue Collar hit, it seems like every comic out there was trying to be them – and ‘Redneck it’ up”, says Bill, “and I didn’t want to do that. But when you have a name like Cowboy Bill, peoples expectations are that you are going to be just like them.” And Bill set out to let it all hang out on stage on the road, back in the clubs. “I’ve toured with all 4 of those guys, and the reason why America loves them is because they are funny first and foremost; and ‘country’ second. And that’s the reason so many guys have tried and failed behind them, they get it backwards and think America is going to love them because they sound like Jeff or Ron or Larry but they don’t bring the funny first. I didn’t grow up in a trailer house, so I am not going to write jokes about them. Hopefully when you leave the show, you will see that I have more to offer than just a twang.” One thing is for sure, the top bookers and club owners in America think he’s on the right path and with thousands of fans in his fan-club; America seems to think they are right. The result from finding that truth on stage is now he has a show that is smart (something you can’t say with most country acts), truly funny, real and it’s got heart. Bill released his first DVD in 2007 for Aspirion Records of Nashville called, “Live from the Star Dome: Power of Laughter” and he is in the works to film his second DVD this fall called, “The NutCracker”. Bill is proving to be more than just a stand-up comedian. He has written and is shopping 3 reality shows, 3 movie scripts; a sit-com based on his life as a stand-up and continues to write the Cos-Man-politan Report, a popular radio bit that he and his management team are in the process of syndicating. Speaking from the heart and tackling issues that other "country" comics wouldn’t dare to venture, don’t miss your opportunity to experience the creative and entertaining, Cowboy Bill Martin – you will leave pleasantly surprised.

Dwight Slade
March 2 - March 7

Part man, part ageless boy; comedian Dwight Slade has the privilege of being a comedy legend in American stand up. The winner of this year’s Boston Comedy Festival, Slade combines an intelligent, raging voice of justice with the snickering attitude of a high school prankster. He gives the impression of a man on a journey. Who enjoys nothing more than making fun of everything along the way. Born in Seattle, Dwight moved often in his early years, living in San Mateo, California; Wilton, Connecticut; Marietta, Georgia and Houston, Texas. . It was while in middle school in Houston that Dwight became friends with Bill Hicks, an intense young man with a secret dream of becoming a stand-up comedian. The two quickly developed a partnership that has lasted a lifetime. The two became enamored by comedians on The Tonight Show and began writing jokes to try out on friends. At age 14 they were sneaking of their parent’s suburban homes and riding their bikes to auditions and open mikes. Throughout his high school and college years, Dwight continued to focus on stand-up. At 18, Slade finished 3rd in the Euphoria Comedy Contest, and full of ambition, moved to Hollywood. He became one of the youngest performers to ever perform at the famous Comedy Store. The 90’s found Dwight moving into new arenas of creativity. Radio station KXL-AM billed him as “The Northwest’s Most Dangerous Mind” as he became a noted talk radio personality who used humor instead of rage to engage listeners. He released two comedy CD’s on Humor Ink recordings, "Weird State," and “Shut-up.” Slade’s feature film debut came in 2000 in the movie “Inconceivable,” which enjoyed a run on Showtime and Lifetime. Slade also co-starred in the gritty family drama, “My Way Home” which won the Platinum Award at the 2001 Houston International Film Festival. Since then, Slade has made appearances in three feature films including the soon to be released James Westby film, “Rid Of Me.” In 2002, Slade became the first stand-up to make appearances at the three major North American Comedy Festivals: Aspen, Chicago and Montreal. On the heels of his performances, Slade signed a development deal with Warner Brothers Television. Slade was chosen to appear on HBO’s “Best of the US Comedy Arts Festival” and made an appearance on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend. Slade’s stand-up has gained international stature after earning a five star review from Scotland’s Minister of Culture at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival and appearances at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. He followed this with a tour in Afghanistan performing for US Troops, a tour of Israel. After a stellar performance at the 2008 Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, Slade was chosen to appear on a Tonight Show feature.

Roman Danylo
March 9 - March 14

Roman was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. At his birth his mother screamed "Yeeha!" Which was particularly strange because she was a Ukrainian German immigrant with a thick old country accent. In School, Roman was excellent at Math but really crappy at English. According to his guidance counselor Roman should not be an actor but should consider a job in electronics. He is the youngest of four and his older brother use to pound the crap out of him for no reason damn it! When Roman was very young he was heard to say, "When I grow up I want to be a giant and step on people!" In his teen years he played a lot of sports and worked out that aggression. In his later days of high school Roman was found to be very good at drama because he could easily be loud and annoying. The rise of The Roman Empire began in Calgary back in the late 1980's where Roman worked for several local comedy clubs, The Loose Moose Theater, Theater Calgary and various CBC Radio Dramas. With a youthful optimism and naiveté The Roman Empire invaded Vancouver in 1992 and was soon destroyed by a band of warrior Mongols. After rebuilding it's army The Empire was victorious in the following battles... Roman is one of only a handful of comedians to have performed in the prestigious HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen and Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival in the same year. In Hollywood he starred in the UPN Series “Off Limits”, and has been featured on NBC’s “Late Friday”. He has appeared in the Feature Films, “Duets” with Gwenyth Paltrow, and “Happy Birthday” with John Goodmanm. Roman was the host of a talk show pilot produced by fellow Canadian David Steinberg, and has acted in a stage sketch review show with Martin Short. Roman has appeared as a dramatic actor in television shows like “Jeremiah”, “Outer limits” and “Sliders” Back home Roman has appeared or starred in several Canadian Series. Including CBC’s “Comics”, “These Arms of Mine”, and “Made in Canada”, CTV’s “Comedy Now”, “The Holmes Show” and The Comedy Network's “Slightly Bent”, “Just For Laughs Improv Championships” and many more. Currently Roman stars in his own sketch comedy series on CTV and Spike TV called “Comedy Inc.” In 2004 Roman won a Leo Awards for his performance in CBC’s “Western Alienation Comedy Hour” and was nominated for a Gemini for his performance in “Comedy Inc.” Roman enjoys, water sports, raisins and some humans.
